Origin 2 is looking totally different to the first game isn't it?
The Blues have had a wretched preparation, nothing has gone right but sometimes those things actually work for you. Like when Brett Finch got called in last minute and kicked the winning field goal!!
The weather has probably also helped NSW as it will be a match dominated in the forwards tomorrow night and for mine the Blues pack looks pretty strong. Sure they lack one prop but O'Donnell and Gallen will run the ball all night and tackle their hearts out.
I was up there last week and felt the Blues would be winning but 3 days is a long time in football.
The thing was the withdrawal of Craig Wing. Before that I had NSW winning but now the bench looks strange.. I know they say Gidley will go to hooker should something happen to Farah or if Wallace is going bad then Gidley goes to half but then you lose some impact at fullback so having Morris on the bench I think is a mistake. I would have gone for Hornby but the fact is Morris is playing good footy and he won’t let the Blues down.
Queensland have been blessed. No injuries , no dramas, good training and today they arrive in Sydney and the sun is bloody shining for the first time in 2 weeks!!
Something tells me they have been saying their prayers lately.
I am cheering for the Blues but somehow I think it might be too much of an ask so tipping Queensland just…by 2 points in a low scoring match.
And if you have been following us over the past few weeks I hope you are winning. 5 from 5 last week and I hope that doesn't mean this week goes south.
Gotta also give a wrap to Ricky and the Sharks. I know they only beat kids On Monday but 4 form 4 is great in any competition and they have turned things around so much I heard someone ask if they can make the top 8!! A month ago they wouldn't have made the top 15!!
Good luck and the ceremonial handing over of the wooden spoon to the Roosters has taken place with Freddie's boys set to take ownership after this weekend when the Sharks and Roosters lineup against each other.
Enjoy the Origin and even though I tipped the Queenslanders I won’t be unhappy if the Blues win.
